A summer of weddings (including their own) led Dennie Hirsch and his wife, Cheryl, to look for something unique in terms of wedding entertainment in Edmonton. “We went to all the bridal shows, we did all the research to make our wedding as special as possible,” says Dennie. “We never came across a photo booth being offered. When I saw this I thought 'that’s brilliant.'” They opened Mojo Photo Booth in 2011.
It started off as a part-time side project but, by the second summer, the photo booth had become a full-time job. “It took off,” says Dennie, who now operates nine photo booths in Edmonton and two in Calgary. “In Edmonton, we were one of three options. The other guys offering rentals were the old hard-style metal photo booth that only two people could fit in. Ours fits 10 people standing, so it’s much better for bigger crowds and groups.”
