Nicole Hudson still remembers when she set up her first Facebook profile. She was just a teenager at the time, teaching dance to young girls and developing an awareness of the identity she presented online. “I was very cautious with it,” Nicole recalls, ensuring that the photographs and comments that appeared on her Facebook profile didn’t alienate her students or their parents. “I always had a pretty strong personal brand.”
In university, Nicole studied filmmaking, learning more about photography and developing her Instagram profile, which eventually gained a strong following. After working on a TV set for two years, Nicole realized that her heart wasn’t in film. Meanwhile, friends and online acquaintances began reaching out for suggestions on how to improve their Facebook profiles or Instagram shots. So she combined her teaching background and brand-conscious instincts with her social media savvy to start her own branding and personal development business, Bot Communications.
